2011 – “Mars Moon Project: Ajijic”, reproduces the view from the window of the gallery as a panoramic photo. However, the image is only partially visible. It can be glimpsed through a series of holes that are marked and mapped to indicate a direction for viewing. This stresses that not only our abstract knowledge but also very empirical engagement with the world is crucially bound to the signposts we already have. What we already know enables and constrains the knowledge we will acquire.
